Thanks Elsa...I'm looking forward to June 12 when the Aussies take on Japan...my better half and I may come to blows over this one :D

I'm sure after the first round I'll have to switch my loyalties to a new team...but I live in hope!

Hey - there's nothing wrong with hope. Look at what happened in 2004 - my beloved Red Sox won the World Series (I don't know why it's called the World Seriess since only the US and one team from Canada play in Major League Baseball) after being down 3 games to the Yankees in the playoffs. So keep hoping!

My better half was pretty excited about that win too...as he considers Boston to be his 2nd hometown!

VK - That's nice that your better half has a soft spot for Boston - I do to. It's a great place. I actually grew up about 30 miles north of it.

Again your photo is triggering my affection for London...I should go back there soon ;)

Elsa, I'm yet to visit mainland USA...I've only made it to Hawaii so far...but I'm keen to get there one day - and given his past, we'll definitely be visiting Boston when we make the trek :)

Bearette, It's interesting how certain images can trigger emotions...London is such an amazing place - it's definitely a city you can visit over and over again...though I think you currently live in a pretty amazing place too (not that I have first hand experience...yet!) \(^_^)/

So, my question to you, VK, is who the heck are you going to barrack for on Monday when Australia faces off with Japan?

Hey, by the way, I taught my two year old to say "Socceroos". So now he strolls around and unexpectedly shouts out "Soccer-rooooooooos".

MF, I'll be supporting the Soccer-rooooooooos of course :D

I hope they pull through, cos I'll never hear the end of it from my better half otherwise! We've already started trading insults ;)

VK - I think you would definitely enjoy Boston. It's such a great city and small enough to be charming. It really is a walking city.

(Sigh) There are so many must-see places on my list, and like my Amazon wishlist, it just keeps growing!
