This is one of my favourite photos from a trip to Airlie Beach I took back in 2001:
This was taken from the back of a truck we were on in Proserpine ...we were about to take a cruise to spot crocodiles in their natural habitat before learning how to make damper . I love the colour of the earth in this shot!

i can see why it's one of your favourite photos. it makes me a bit homesick for wide, open space. and colours just seem to look different back home, or maybe i'm just biased.

Hey GG, It makes me homesick too! And you are right about the colours, they ARE different back home - more vivid!
Hey MF, Whitehaven is amazing, isn't it? So incredibly gorgeous and I loved the squeaky sand! I was astounded at how close the "outback" was from the "beach"! From memory, this was about a 30 min drive away?! What a country :D
