The long wait is over...

Finally, finally, finally...
Australia has won a game in the
World Cup!

Thank you Tim Cahill (above), John Aloisi and the entire Socceroo squad...you just made an Aussie in Japan
very, very happy!

Australia 3 - Japan 1

And for tonight at least,
Australia leads Group F with 3 points!

Welcome G&GA - great website you have there!

Thanks Elsa, I can't stop grinning - looks like you were right yesterday!
At half-time in the USA Vs Czech Republic match, Czech are currently leading 2-0.

Hooray!! I suspect you have a very unhappy other half! Oh well, too bad, because we won. Hooray!

MF, He was unhappy but very gracious in defeat...I offered to make him an honourary Aussie for the tournament ;p And once more... AUSTRALIA ROCKS!!

Elsa, I'm hoping and hoping...we now have a good chance to advance past the first round!

Thanks Carolyn - The US-Czech game was a disappointing result for you :(

Helen - Wouldn't that be fantastic! I think Brazil and Germany - among others - would have something to say about that arrangement :D

    KARN SHTRAILYA!!!!!

I was watching the game here in Shanghai with my Canadian other half... He was going for Japan ("Just 'coz") and said the aussies looked like the bullies at school keeping the ball from the weedy kid. It was the perfect opportunity for me to teach him some aussie lingo: "Built like a brick shit house". It's classy all the way in our house.
