"Great British Entertainment" Disappears...
My favourite cable channel BBC Japan is no longer available, so I'll no longer be watching the following fine programmes:
- The Catherine Tate Show
- Blackadder
- Red Dwarf
- Dalziel and Pascoe
- Absolutely Fabulous
- Fawlty Towers
- The League of Gentlemen
- Ready, Steady, Cook
- 10 Years Younger
- Eastenders
- What Not To Wear
- Jonathan Creek
- Monarch of the Glen
- Mastermind
- My Family
- The Mrs Bradley Mysteries
- To The Manor Born
- As Time Goes By
Why have they done this to me?!

Well I've been through a range of emotions since I found out yesterday...first there was shock, then horror, then outrage...now I'm just bitter ;)

AAAAAAAhhhh Disaster!!
You can always take advantage of our ever growing collection of British comedy DVDs. It's all part of Hiro's education.

And I must have a dirty mind, because I thought one of those shows read "Ready, Steady, Cock"

MF: I'm actually considering writing a letter so they know that at least one person is interested in getting it back!
C: Well I certainly hope I entertain you all :D And your 2nd comment made me go back and double check that I did type it correctly LOL

That sucks! Why did they stop this channel? You gotta love a good episode of "What Not To Wear." We like both the British and American versions, but truly enjoy a good Trinny and Susannah fashion battle.

I'm not exactly sure why they've stopped it Lou...T & S are indeed quite a team!

That's awful! I would hate to lose that channel - some great programming there. I love Blackadder, Ab Fab, Fawlty Towers and As Time Goes By. I haven't watched any of the other shows you mention, but I'm sure they're hysterical - as most British humor.

If you get BBC America Elsa, I highly recommend the other shows on my list :D

WHAT ABOUT DR. WHO?
We used to have a channel like that in America- it was PBS. Back in the 70's, 80,s & early 90s, you could see all of those shows for free. Then they realized that American fans would shell out big $ for VHS tapes, and suddenly all those shows went off the air.
I love Red Dwarf. I wish they'd make more before everyone gets too old.

Welcome Tony, I'm not sure if Dr Who was on BBC Japan?! And I agree that Red Dwarf is smeg-tastic :D
