Pockets of Tradition...

What I love most about living here...
is when I unexpectedly see
women wearing kimonos on the streets of Tokyo.
It makes me remember why I chose to live here!

I took this outside Zenkouji Temple in Omotesando

I think that must be an awesome experience! What a throw back to the old ways of life. Do you have a kimono too?

What a beautiful image. It would be such a lovely thing to see. I can't imagine too many countries wear their traditional dress in the streets these days.

You're right T1 it is awesome! I don't have a kimono but I do have a yukata - basically the light, cotton summer version...more comfy to wear and a lot easier on the pocket :p

Good point MF...now I'm trying to think of countries where this happens regularly and I'm mainly coming up with Asian countries like Thailand, India, Korea, Japan, China etc...

I love kimonos and yukatas. I guess that is why I love the old martial arts movies. The culture and dress is fascinating. Great photos, too.
