Let me out!

These images were in my inbox today, and I just had to share them!

Giant Pandas are known as "Da xiong mao" or "Giant Bear Cat" in China and are a symbol of peace.

Baby Pandas weigh less than an apple when they are born!

Pandas are mostly shy and spend most of their lives alone.

It's D.C.'s very own... Tai Shan. Or, as he was dubiously nicknamed shortly after his birth, "Butterstick." Seems he was about the same length and weight as an 8 oz. stick of butter at birth. Tai Shan just celebrated his first birthday a few weeks ago. It'll be a sad day next year when he has to be returned to China.
